What’s Offered

  • Summer childcare with structured learning
  • Dates/times:
    May 27, 2025 – August 1 or 8, 2025 (start date may change due to LSC snow days)
    Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
    Closed for Independence Day (Observed Friday, July 4, 2025)

Who’s eligible for 5th Quarter:

  • Elementary aged children – starting Kindergarten through completed 6th grade
  • Limited to 50 children

What you need to submit with your application and registration:

  • Children’s names, date of birth, grade, school name
  • Medical information – medication and allergy information; Immunization Record
  • Educational needs information; Individualized Education Plan (IEP), if applicable
  • Emergency contact information
  • Read and agree to the Discipline/Guidance Policy

  • Other areas of help offered include: Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA), Employment authorization, Family-based petitions, Naturalization/Citizenship, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), U visas, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions

How to use the Immigration Clinic services:

  • Request An APPOINTMENT
    • PHONE – Call 765-269-4128 – Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    • ONLINE – complete the online form HERE
  • FEES
    • $10 fee to LUM for initial consultation. You may pay online by clicking the “Make A Payment” button below. Fee must be paid before the consultation appointment. This fee is nonrefundable.
    • Any additional fees needed to process the case will be discussed during the consultation. You may pay online by clicking the “Make A Payment” button below.
  • Days/Hours:
    • Monday – Friday, generally 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • Meetings are by appointment only; no walk-ins
    • Closed on days when LUM is closed for a Holiday

Who may use the Immigration Clinic:

  • Must be a resident of Tippecanoe County, Benton County, Carroll County, Clinton County, Montgomery County, Warren County or White County in Indiana

What’s Offered:

  • Help in getting a birth certificate, which will make it possible to get a social security card and valid ID card (Indiana identification) on your own.

How to Use the ID Clinic:

  • Visitors to the LUM Office must:
    • Not be sick or have COVID-19 symptoms
    • Announce yourself through the intercom
  • Days/Times
    • Tuesday & Thursday
    • 11:00 a.m. –  Noon
    • Must check in by 11:15 a.m.
  • Location – LUM Office, 420 N 4th Street, Lafayette, IN
  • CityBus – Route #1A Market Square – Drop off at Brown Street and 4th Street
  • Service is free, but the entire process may take a few weeks to complete

Who may Use the ID Clinic:

  • Tippecanoe County residents

What you should bring with you:

  • Information – names of birth parents, city & state of where you were born, name of schools you attended and years of enrollment
  • Birth certificate, if available
  • Social Security card, if available
  • Legal ID, if available

Good Samaritan Program

DUE to COVID-19 – NO In-Person Requests will be accepted until further notice (updated 12/24/2021). Please READ this entire page before submitting an Online Request.


What’s Offered:

  • Funds:
    For family emergencies such as…
    • Utilities (gas, electric, water) – help with fees, re-connection or deposit
    • Rent/Mortgage payment
    • Medical
      • Prescription medication, HIP premium payment, physical exam or TB test required for new job
      • Prescriptions must be ready for pick-up at your pharmacy
    • Clothing
      • Work-related clothing – clothes required for a new job
      • Clothing (general use) – clothing vouchers are available from time to time
    • GED test fee
  • Amounts:
    • Generally less than $60; decisions are made on a case-by-case basis
    • There is also a total amount allowed per household per year
  • How often:
    • Not more than every 30 days — or until your household annual limit is reached
    • Generally do not help with the same bill more than once
  • Referrals to other assistance programs
  • NO funds for doctor bills, car repairs, gasoline for cars, bus tokens, court or legal fees, bills not yet past due, bills too large

      • Your Current Bill from the Utility company
    • Rent/Mortgage
      • Copy of your Current Lease or Bank Payment Book
      • Rent Receipt or a Letter from your Landlord
    • Medical
      • Prescription — Name & phone number of your Pharmacy
      • HIP — current bill
      • Physical/TB Test — Note from your new employer or the employment agency – listing Physical Exam or TB Test is required
    • GED Test Fee — proof of current enrollment and testing date
